Sleeping beauty woke up to her love’s kiss and while Rapunzel’s hair proved that love can exist in strands of gold, Snow White had 7 men in the form of dwarfs, but only one Prince Charming saved her from the poisoned apple and Shrek had his own share of happily ever after with Fiona.

Have you ever noticed how biased fairy tale endings are? They make us forget a fact: that some relationships do end tragically.

Everything starts with firsts: First love, first kiss, first commitment and so much more. It is in these firsts that each one of us slowly enter the world of the deceiving idea of fairytales- filled only with heart-pounding moments. But who would ever think that there is so much more than to these moments? Because reality is, there’s no such thing as getting a happy ending without even getting a few scratches, and sometimes, these scratches turn into ugly scars.

There could be a lot of flaws that goes with love, but not love itself, for everybody is right about the idea of love – how it could turn a person’s world upside down and all the other cheesy definition of it. But the problem is, most of the time, life is spent on falling for the wrong person. Nobody really knows who is the right person to fall for or the best time to fall for one. It would have been okay if it wouldn’t hurt, but it does, a lot actually. And when a person gets hurt, they become scared- scared to fall again without the assurance that somebody is willing to catch them.

Then there’s this problem about how unexpected love ends. Even after marriage, despite the fact that everybody gives their word to God about “till death do us part”, still, some promises do get broken. It cannot be helped, because love isn’t about how many years you’ve been together or all those memories that you’ve experienced. One just wakes one morning and feels different. When it’s gone, it’s really gone. And most of the time, you can’t save it. The only choices left are first, move on. Second is to make sure the first choice happens.

Every beginning has an ending. If in love, everything starts with the firsts, everything also ends with firsts: first heartbreak, first time of moving on, first time of knowing what really love is. Everybody promises you happily ever after, but life turns into a different kind of fairy tale.

A friction pen in one hand and an old notebook in another, just waiting for a text message from someone i might lose anytime now

Sometimes, we just want to put our headphones on, listen to the saddest song that we ever know and draw portraits of ourselves sulking in one corner.

Now playing “Sweet Disposition” by i-dont-know-who.

The Old Faded Page: The things I think about at two in the morning.

I’d like to hold your hand, please.

Get you coffee in the mornings.

Kiss you. Startle you with the most random hugs. Call you in the evening to ask about how your day went.

Buy you breakfast because you had to rush to work early this morning, take care of you because you came down sick and…
